1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
After doing his studies in Japan, he served the Japanese military and then lived in the United States afterward for 18 years. He initially worked on Automotive Tier 1 suppliers; for the first eight years, mostly working within the manufacturing sectors then moved on to design side of things and worked on automotive airbags, ADAS cameras, surround views, and also radars. He has been managing project teams since 2000 and for the past 25 years, has been managing either one project or multiple projects for different products within the automotive industry, mainly for Japanese customers and OEMs including Honda and Mazda. Currently, he’s with XXXX as the Head of Automated Driving for Japan and is managing the overall business of the Automated Driving System; his group consists of two main products including radars and electro-processing systems. His team works on both current development projects and main trans project launched already; aside from that, they also go after businesses with different existing customers or new customers as well for next generation products. He is currently managing a team of about 25 people consisting of 20 engineers and 5 product managers.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his great exposure to a wide variety of issues and practices, as well as functions within the automotive field. He understands most of the things about electronics products as well as software/hardware systems and mechanical-related stuff. He is good with bridging those knowledge together and is also expert with overall project execution and go after new/existing customers for businesses.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has more than 10 years of experience with leadership roles and also managing cross-functional teams that work with engineering and automotive-related projects. Aside from that, he has great expertise with systems in general, also software/hardware systems and is coming from an electrical and electronics engineering background so knowledgeable with that area as well. Being into leadership roles for many years now, he is good with budget management, risk mitigation, and other project management related skillset. Has lots of experience working with western-based companies as his two previous companies are from the US.
